Movie Mashups 3...

Alright, here we go.  I'm just in the mood to do something a little light and fun.  Enough, already, with the sentimental posts, right?!  So here is my third installment of Movie Mash-Ups.  See if you can figure out which two movies have been mashed together (remember they will share a common word in their title)...

  • A woman rescues what she thinks is the man of her dreams after he was mugged and pushed onto the tracks of an oncoming train.  After falling in love with that man's brother, she gets tired of his abusive OCD ways and plans an escape where she fakes her death at sea and seeks refuge in a new town.
  • After finding out about his wife's affair, a man gets a total makeover with help from a very handsome and successful lady's man who ends up falling in love with the man's daughter.  But she only has eyes for her boss, who is married to the sister of the newest Prime Minister of England, who has a crush on the woman who brings him tea.
  • A wizarding tournament goes from dangerous to fatal when a young girl who can light things ablaze with only her mind gets brought into the mix.
  • Two secret agents are vying over the same woman who is going through a viciously messy divorce where she and her husband are doing everything they can think of to get each other out of the house they both love.
  • A young man learns from his father that the men in his family have the ability to travel through time.  As uses this ability as he falls in love and tries to fix things for his family when all of a sudden a security agent in charge of regulating time travel has to fight corrupt politicians and fight for his own survival.
  • An all-girl college acapella group gets stuck at sea while deep sea fishing when the storm of all storms hits.
  • A rich  mother in the middle of a divorce becomes the leader of her daughter's scout troop and crosses paths with a police officer from Detroit who is investigating a murder in ritzy California.
  • A man and his son take their boxing robot on tour to a southern town where a close-knit group of women come to terms with life, love, loss, and armadillo cake.
  • The lives of 3 astronauts are in danger when while on a mission to the moon, something goes terribly wrong and a young girl is transported into an older version of herself where she learns valuable lessons about life.
  • A group of unemployed steel workers come up with a desperate plan to earn money as strippers on a quest to find an ancient and holy relic while encountering flesh wounds and plagues along the way.

OK.  That's all I have for now, but I'd love to see if you can come up with any others.

Happy Mashing!

Another One Bites the Dust...

Well that's it.  Another one bites the dust.  Mason is officially done with elementary school, and since Queen is his favorite band, I figure it's a fitting title.  I just can't believe it.  My little boy is a middle schooler.  These last 6 years have absolutely flown by!  I can't even begin to fathom how quickly the next 7 are going to go, but I will worry about that another day.  Today I am going to savor this moment, remembering with fondness and looking forward with hope.

Mason is far more ready than I am for this chapter to be over and for his next chapter to begin.  He is not sad or nervous.  He is just happy and excited.  I am fiercely proud of this kid!  Mason is the best boy I know.  He is both humble and confident.  He is both a jock and a nerd.  He is both serious and hilarious.  He is both "by the book" and "outside the box".  Mason is a paradox of the best kind.  He is growing up, and he is still my baby.  And he is going to kick middle school's butt!

But until then, take a look back with me:

Good Luck in Middle School, Mason.  We couldn't be prouder!!!
